No packaging team. No qualified suppliers. No procurement framework. We embedded directly and built all three.
The Opportunity
The client had no dedicated packaging function. Material decisions were made ad hoc, supplier relationships were unmanaged, and equipment procurement had stalled because nobody internally had the technical knowledge to evaluate options. Every week without a qualified supply base was a week the business could not move forward on new product development.
The Solution
PSL embedded directly in the client's operations — not as advisors producing a report, but as the packaging team they did not have. We evaluated the global supply chain, qualified strategic suppliers in Europe and China, and built a cross-functional decision-making framework that scores suppliers against technical, commercial, and operational criteria in a single assessment. The framework replaced a process that previously required three separate sign-off meetings.
The Impact
The client now has a business contingency plan, a qualified supplier network across two continents, and the packaging equipment they needed to launch. The decision-making framework remains in daily use — not as a PSL deliverable gathering dust, but as the way the procurement team actually works.
